"Where can you find a show that offers unlimited classes for $50? The MMHC is offering two shows in 2010 with that low price for unlimited classes. There is the AMHR/ASPC Area National VI show July 2-3-4 at the Minnesota Equestrian Center in Winona, followed by the MMHC's AMHR & AMHA club shows July 23-24 (AMHR) and July 25 (AMHA) at the same location. The club Futurity will be featured at the July club show. The MMHC strives to offer fun and affordable classes."

The Minnesota Miniature Horse Club was organized in 1986 by a group of families that had the common interest of miniature horses. The club has grown from the original 10 charter families to over 100 families today! That number continues to grow with more people finding the miniature horse a part of their lives.

MMHC is affiliated with both the American Miniature Horse Association and the American Miniature Horse Registry and welcomes all miniature horse owners to the club.

MMHC has six membership meetings a year and board meetings held before each regular meeting. Officers are elected at the annual meeting in January each year. All members are encouraged to attend meetings and contribute their time and talents.

MMHC members raise and show some of the finest horses in the nation. Showing both locally and nationally, they have made their mark on the miniature horse industry. But you don’t have to show to benefit from the rewards of loving and caring for a miniature horse! The miniature horse offers something for everyone.

A bi-monthly newsletter is published and mailed to the current membership, providing information about club activities, meetings, shows, and promotional opportunity for members.

To help educate members and others, MMHC holds an informational clinic, usually every other spring. Many interesting and informative topics are offered, such as grooming, health and driving techniques, as well as the opportunity for fellowship with other Miniature Horse owners. A mentor program is also available to new members, where a sponsor will help guide participants with their first experiences with miniatures. In addition, a "Fun Show" is held every other year (alternating with the clinic) and provides an opportunity for all members to show their horses for fun and to encourage fellowship. Several "fun" classes are included for the youth and those young at heart. The mentor program is also very involved with this event.

MMHC also strives to get youth involved with the miniature horse and all club events. The club offers these youth a chance to become involved in something they can be passionate about, while they learn to operate within a professional organization and offer their own unique talents for the good of the group.

Because the mission of MMHC is to promote the miniature horse, the club is involved annually in exhibiting at and attending the Minnesota Horse Expo. Members have the opportunity to showcase their own miniature horses to prospective buyers, while representing the club to the public.

MMHC also offers several rewarding programs. The Futurity program offers breeders the opportunity to showcase their breeding program by showing the offspring resulting from their breeding programs. The Gelding Incentive offers monetary rewards for the show success of geldings.

An Awards Banquet is held each year to present the High Point awards and the monetary rewards to the Futurity and Gelding Incentive participants. The annual banquet also includes a silent auction of good donated by the membership, with proceeds donated to the club treasury. A great time is had by all!

MMHC welcomes all miniature horse owners to share their love of the miniature with us and the rest of the world! Please come join us!
